Default Viberation

I have a 1975 Corvette 350 automatic Stringray with a Viberation. I have changed u joints, tires and rims. Had drive shaft balanced, changed harmonic balancer and flywheel, viberation still there. Dropped drive shaft, ran engine, viberation still there. Don't know what to do next.

Since you say "dropped driveshaft, ran engine, still there" It sounds like when the car is stationary.

Can it be felt while stationary or while being driven?

At what RPM or Speed? In what gear?

Stationary; Remove all belts and unbolt the torque converter from the flywheel. Isolate just the engine from anything else.

Driven; Remove the non essential drive belts, With a reed tachometer see if you can measure the frequency and pinpoint the RPM/speed. There is a formula for measuring the speed of the rotating mass versus specific component RPM.

GOOD Luck

I agree with 76bomb. But also check your harmonic balancer. Make sure it did not come loose or come apart. Also try and remember when the vibration started and if there was anything you did or happend at the time. And don't forget the simple things. Is there a loss of power associated with the vibration, did a spark plug wire come off?
