Hi MelWff ... I had it out of the car today and was unable to find the number normally stamped across the body of the starter. On the bottom it actually says 10455, then a large 30 followed by what appears to be a date stamp of 1C01 and my car is a September 1971 build. The starter also had this label on it and I know it had been removed and rebuilt as opposed to just getting a new one ...

Any thoughts or do you have a spare as a reference ??

after the 30 in your picture I clearly see a 5 before the date code making the part number 10455305. So I'm not sure what you want beyond what I already found about this not originally being a Corvette starter but a starter from a van. Did you look at the link i provided you?

All. 2wd. 7.4l. 5.7l. G10-30 vans.; 4.1L, 4.3L, 5.0L, 5.7L, 7.4L. 4.1L, 4.3L, 4.8L, 5.0L, 5.7L, 7.4L.

I did look at your link Thanks! ... but I have to get new glasses, you are absolutely right there is a '5' when I magnify the image.
