Default Rocker panels

Is it possible to powder coat the aluminum rocker panels on a 1978 Corvette instead of just painting them. Powder coating is more durable than paint.

When I bought the 71 front clip for my car (from S&S Corvettes in Cocoa, FL)... it came with front grills that were powder coated silver. So I would guess that if they can powder coat the front grills, they should be able to do the rocker panels.
