I have a 1976 (early) Corvette. I installed a new passenger side window motor and now have this problem. When either the door gets closed to hard {slammed} or I install the lock **** the window will not go up or down. I have power to the motor. The only way I found to fix the problem is to remove the door panel, motor inspection plate and loosen the 3 bolts that hold the motor to regulator. retighten the bolts and window operates up and down. It is almost like the motor gets jammed and will not let the window work. Purchased motor from Ecklers. Thank You

Next time it gets jammed tap it with a hammer a few times and try it again. It's possible the armature has a flat spot on it causing the motor to fail.
But my next question is the kicker... when you had the regulator out did you inspect the teeth?
Another thought is the stops for the window, are they properly adjusted. You could be over-running the teeth on the gear.

Thanks for the information. I don not think tapping it with a hammer will work. The reason when the door lock **** fell off I hit it on pretty hard with my hand which in turn made the window stop working.
When the new motor was installed by my friend {also my body man} I am not sure if he took out the regulator to install the new motor. So I am not sure what shape the teeth are in.
As for the window stops, I actually went to the Willcox web site and found the procedure to adjust the windows. I believe I did the adjustments correctly but I will double check.
When the window works, it goes up and down with no binding.
