Congrats on a beautiful long awaited Vette. I know you are having a blast. i spent quite a few years in Germany (Schweinfurt) and loved every day of the 5 years I was there. Have fun and we'll be looking forward to more updates from you and your new toy.

back from the roads

the last month was amazing, the first 1000 mls are done

the differential was "cracking" a little bit when cornering at low speed, after changing the oil this noise was gone.
Next i will change the belts, cause i don't know how old they are

This car fascinates me more and more

and here some pics

Greetings
Herby

Hi knuckleherby,
looks great the little one!
I hope I see the little times in Ladenburg, Suhl, Böblingen or St. Leon- Roth!?!
Yesterday I drove my golden lady out of the workshop, she already zickt around again.
Short circuit between the turn signal relay and turn signal on the front passenger side.
Become stupid!

I'm just getting a big chuckle out of the bad English, no offense gentlemen, you're doing great!
I thought you were required to run Z-rated tires there. Are those 'Galaxy' tires Z-rated? Actually driving that car fast enough to require Z-rated tires would be crazy!

no, the Galaxy´s are V-rated (max. top speed 240 km/h), or is there a different rating between EU and USA?

Greetings

Yeah, sorry, I meant to say V-rated. I need practice with the alphabet.

Great pics of Bavaria! What fantastic roads for the car.

A lot of time clacking/chattering from the rear end can be solved by adding another bottle of the majic GM differential additive. Now that you’ve changed the fluid(good idea). If it starts clacking again, just add another bottle before trying anything else.

Enjoy!

Don't worry. You will. I haven't read the whole thread. Does this car have an overdrive trans yet? It would be embarassing to be on the Autobahn at 80 mph and have every 4cyl Opel go blasting by you.

You won't want to run down the road at 4k rpm's. Borg T5's can be found in Europe too...

yes, certainly a good option to get more speed at lower rpm´s.
Actually the M20 is working like brand new, as long as everything works fine i don´t want to replace it, love it original
Maybe i change my mind someday...
