Default Calling Alan, need a picture

Alan

Do you have a picture of a 1971 idle stop solenoid bracket attached to the carb?

Thanks
Dennis

Hi Dennis,
It's an unusual screw that mounts the bracket to the q-jet.
It's a fillister head but it's counter sunk which centers it in the hole for it in the bracket.
Regards,
Alan

What looks like a washer is just the reflection of the screw head in the bracket plating.

And if you have an LT-1, it is mounted very differently than that.

Hi,
I believe this is the CEC solenoid and bracket configuration on a Holley carb.
The bracket the solenoid mounts to seats directly on the carburetor base plate and is fastened with 2 fillister head screws and 2 small split lock washers.
Regards,
Alan

Can't see Alan's pictures at work so I will look at those tonight. But the bracket in post # 2 & 4 points to me having the wrong bracket. I'm still waiting on a rebuilt 71 Carb I ordered 3 weeks ago and in the mean time getting all my hardware together.

The bracket I have is for a Holley, I need the Q-Jet bracket.

Hi Dennis,
The bracket mounts to the carb at 3 locations.
A single threaded hole for the screw.
A butterfly shaped 'tab' on the front of the carb body.
A square shaped tab on the right upper side of the carb body.
Regards,
Alan

Hi Alex,
Nice photos
Always a question though!
Is there a 'Rochester Products' logo on the front of the plastic choke pull-off?
Thanks!
Regards,
Alan
