You can get one made to your specifications at places like these:

https://www.edecals.com/index.html

I had them make me a couple "258 Super Cobra Jet" stickers for my AMC Eagle.

I believe those stickers have a long and interesting history.
My recollection is very vague, so hopefully someone can fill in the blanks (between my ears)

As I recall they were originally made as a joke - the joke is obvious. NCRS is an organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of Corvettes, so the "Not Correctly Restored Stingray" is exactly the opposite of what they are doing.

But the not so funny part is that after those satirical stickers were made and distributed and proudly displayed, I believe the real NCRS either threatened or actually took some legal action to prevent the further distribution of those stickers. I do understand and appreciate the need for any organization to protect their trademarks.

So did it go down something like that? I never knew the details, so I could have made up this entire story.

For one the real NCRS had GM rights to use the cross flag logo. The people who made the sticker did not. Two NCRS had that logo copyrighted So I think the people behind it got in some hot water

Its no surprise to me the ncrs got their panties in a wad over it. No sense of humor over such serious stuff. Maybe if they didn't criticize people for not having correct chalk marks on their frame, people wouldn't get the common opinion of the NCRS. Guess what boys, we all don't care about originality. Some of just love Corvettes.

But some of them consider their sand box to include everyone else's Corvette as well.

This topic has been absolutely beaten to death for at least 12+ years on the forum. I did a search and quickly found 10 threads going back to 2005, without looking at the rest of the many search results. There's more. This did not include all the threads removed and deleted due to personal conflcts and copyright issues. I was going to post the links but changed my mind because many of the threads are closed due to the posting of the logos and copyright concerns.

As I understand it, reportedly NCRS did have issues with copyright infringement, as well as concerns over what a product/image designed to take a completely opposite (and often negative, beyond a "joke") perspective of what their organization was about at the time, could do to their brand with the obvious confusion.

I imagine these days, given NCRS is judging restomods and is no longer only dedicated to stock-only cars, that the whole running opposition to the concept of "NCRS" just isn't relevant anymore. Those jokes dont have the same sting.

If people want to provide each other with info or graphics, etc, please do it by PM rather than post them here, thanks.

I don't get all of the aggravation about NCRS. It is not like they are raiding car shows looking for non-original cars.

But I guess everyone has to have something to complain about. I personally do not give a damn how someone else does their car. If they like it; good for them.

Exactly, but it works both ways. They stay out of our sandbox....which is the whole problem....and maybe you haven't read the hundreds of threads / posting that that the moderator mentions about this subject.

Just clarifying, I mentioned 10, plus some other, threads on the specific topic of Not Correctly Restored Stingray stickers and paraphernalia and the related copyright and other battles that ensued.

However, I'm seeing this thread headed into the same pro/anti NCRS conflict that came with many of those threads. Im not seeing an upside to this thread remaining open.
