Default 81 Exhaust System

I removed the exhaust system to install Hooker Sidepipes/Headers and was wondering what I should do with the original system...try to sell it....is there a market??....or just scrap metal. I was able to sell the mufflers but I have everything else including a "cat test pipe."

Comments....

I don't think there would be much of a market for that system. You may want to list it locally on Craigslist though. The "cat test pipe" is probably all that will sell.

Fwiw - I sent my old factory '81 system straight to the metal recycler when I removed it.

Street Rat: yeah...that was what I was thinking as well. I will probably put in on Craigslist, not sell and then take it to the metal recycler in a month.
Oh well.....

is it in good condition? someone may want to replace their rust exhaust with a factory one. Good luck with it.

Actually the entire system is in pretty good condition, no holes or anything. My '81 was from Southern California, then Phoenix, then Tucson....so no real moisture to worry about. I have not done a thing with the pieces yet, been sitting there for over two years now that I think about it.....geez...I really need to get rid of them.

There is value in the tubular exhaust manifolds if they are in good shape.

Exhaust manifolds are in very good shape, not cracked. Even have the heat shields for both sides. I need to get busy, take some pictures and get the parts posted.....tomorrow.

clifish: I replied to your PM.
