Default correct plastic plug for hole in firewall?

One would figure I would know my car inside and out after owning it for over 40 years. Putzing around with it, I just noticed a hole in the firewall behind the right side hood catch. FIL has a 69 tub covered in weeds in the back yard. Found this plugging the hole. Is this the plug GM installed originally? The tub I got this from has been sitting for over 25 years in the same spot

Thanks NWM. The plug I pictured I removed from a 69 tub that has been sitting many years behind the garage. Just curious if it is original to 69's. I'm assuming it is. I didn't know cap plugs was that old of a company.
