Steering Wheel Choices?

Steering Wheel Choices?
Looking to update my 69 stock steering wheel with a thicker leather rim model.
I ordered 2 so far, one is thicker gripped with a 14" rim and has the lower spoke proud of the base so it fits into the notch in the column hub.
the other is 13.5" and even thicker grip with nice finger grooves, but has the spokes all stamped from one plate so nothing engages into the hub notch.
I like the thicker smaller rim but I am concerned about not having that engagement to the hub.
it's a manual steering car and not sure if the six screws alone can handle the torque in the wheel especially turning in parking situations.
but the options for the proper spoke configuration are limited.

Yeah. The effort is just a tad higher to turn from a stop, but I'm willing to live with that.
it's the stress on the screws I'm worried about.
is the hub notch intended to take the loads when turning? Or is it just an alignment feature?
I'm mainly looking to improve the cruising comfort with a thicker softer grip.
The thin hard stock rim doesn't provide good resting spots for your hands while driving.
the other aspect I noticed is the effect on visibility of the Speedo and tach. Both smaller rims block the tops of both gauges and I need to peer above or below the rim. Not fun either
So it will be a compromise in any case.

I can't imagine breaking the screws as numerous steering wheels use a very close 6 bolt pattern w/o a notch...
Back in the day my big block had manual steering- It was a lot of 'work' to drive the car in a parking lot.
I now have Power Steering!!!
Went w/ a Narda 13" wheel and just milled down the hub-

I looked at the 13 Inch NARDI also... If it would have had a deeper dish, then it would have been my first choice also. It is handcrafted beautifully and the one i did get doesnt even compare from the craftsmanship... Beautifull italian steering wheel the NARDI is for sure!!!!!
