Default Shifter hitting plate when out into reverse.

Made my car a 4 speed after being and automatic. First time I have had the console in the car with the shifter and when the shifter is put into reverse the stick hits the plate. It's a Hurst competition plus shifter with the correct installation kit and shifter. Is this a common problem.

I just did this last week. Same shifter and all. That shifter has two bolts holding it onto the shift assy. Simply take out the bolts and rotate the shifter 180 degrees. The shifter has a slight bend to it. Rotating it will center it in the console.

I will give that a try tomorrow. Thanks.
