Default Timing Cover Gasket Question

Hey guys I had a question reguarding the timings chain cover gasket. I have a stock pan that I’m replacing the gasket anc changing the timing cover. I got the full one piece from felpro for my oil pan and wasn’t sure what gasket I would need for the timing chain. They have the full wrap around gasket and the one that uses the front seal of the oil pan. Any help is appreciated.

The timing chain cover as with all Gen I sbc's has a gasket for the cover to the block and a rubber gasket at the bottom for the oil pan The pan should be loose for an easier installation.

Thank you, so I wouldn’t need the full wrap around gasket correct? Just the regular felpro should be ok right?

Would go with the one piece pan gasket and as such not use the rubber/neopene gasket that normally would attached to the underside of the timing case cover that's used with the old style 4 piece oil pan gasket kit.

Use the Permatex gray colored rtv silicone for at the two mating points between the block timing case cover gasket and the one piece pan gasket.

The one piece pan gasket was invented for a reason and it works very well.

Use the Felpro one piece oil pan gasket and a standard timing cover gasket.

Yes. Use the standard timing chain chain cover gasket. The one piece felpro pan gasket covers everything and the only thing you do is use sealer in the 4 corners which if I remember, is in the instructions with the gasket.
