Was on a car cruise across our state (Iowa) had a great time but 1 hour from home my 73 went down drivers side trailing arm broke in two pieces where leaf spring bolts too the arm. Question is while I have it apart what all should I replace?
Hi b,
Have the rear wheel bearings been replaced recently?
That's what comes to mind first.
Maybe new bushings for the rear spring to t-arm connection? You'd likely replace both sides.
Regards,
Alan
Agree with above posters.....replace them both now. Both sides have received equal abuse/wear during their lifetime. Parts (and labor if you don't DIY) will cost as much as new.
