Default Trailing arms

Was on a car cruise across our state (Iowa) had a great time but 1 hour from home my 73 went down drivers side trailing arm broke in two pieces where leaf spring bolts too the arm. Question is while I have it apart what all should I replace?

Hi b,
Have the rear wheel bearings been replaced recently?
That's what comes to mind first.
Maybe new bushings for the rear spring to t-arm connection? You'd likely replace both sides.

I would think that total replacement of both TAs is in order.

Taking them apart requires new parts to put back together anyhow.

Replace them both now.

IMHO

Better safe than sore with a 44 yr old car.

Agree with above posters.....replace them both now. Both sides have received equal abuse/wear during their lifetime. Parts (and labor if you don't DIY) will cost as much as new.
