Default 68-72 Front Bumper Guards

I recently purchased a 1974 and it came with some spare parts for 68-72 model. With it came some Front Bumper guards. Apparently there is a difference between the 68-69 and the 70-72 style. How do I tell the difference? Is it mounting holes, width, length or what? Thanks

Hi f,
The 70-72 bumper-ettes have an additional 'wing' on the outer side of each piece that matches the configuration of the 70-72 grills which were different than 68-69 grills.
Regards,
Alan

This is an example of the 70-72 bumper-ette. Note the dark gray painted part of the bumper-ette that matches the painted area of the grill.
