1968 spare tire

1968 spare tire
can anyone tell me if I need a special rim /tire as a spare? 1 currently have 205/75 R15 on my car. but hope to not need it but ,will feel better if I have one. i did contact a vender and was told this was a one year only wheel. which seems odd.

It WAS in fact the only year it was used.
On all 68-72 cars the spare wheel and tire was the same as the 4 wheels and tires on the car.
The 69+ rally wheel was 8" wide.
You CAN use either a 7" or 8" wide wheel on your car. But I wouldn't mix them.
The modern day equivalent of the F70-15 tire that was used on 68-72 cars is 215-70-15. They are readily available.
You CAN use the 205-75 you have.
