Need some help on carpet!
I have a 79 but want to put loop carpet and not cut pile. I just like the look of the loop in older cars.
Can anyone tell me if 76 loop carpet set fit in a 79 without much modification? I have built a custom console that will be leather so I'm just worried about the front floors and back compartment fitment?
You might run into an issue in the rear where the storage compartments are and how the '79 carpet is cut. I feel it should work.
Knowing that the looped carpet will be cut for 3 compartment doors...unless you call them and make a special request...you might have a problem there...because I have not tired to put a 3 door compartment frame in a Corvette that has the 2 door design.

DUB
Thanks DUB, That is the same problem that I could see. Do you know if the outside frame of the 2 compartment the same as the 3?
I may just switch to a 2 compartment frame and doors if that will make replacing with loop carpet easier?
The 1977 front carpets are a one off... They have the 1975-1977 style lower floor boards but they had carpet on the kick panels where the 1975-1976 did not. There are other difference in the hump as well.
But, I'm pretty sure we can order you 80/20 loop carpet for a 1977 but to make sure you might give Tommy a call tomorrow at 800-588-3883.
Willcox
The above was a reply from Willcox. Forum member AllC3for me recently sold a new set of loop carpet custom made for him, ordered from Willcox - cost approx. $330. Suggest that you give Willcox a call and discuss. They will want to know if your 79 is early (3 back seat doors) or late (2 doors).
Good luck and please let me know how it works out!

1976 carpet will not fit in a 1979. The floor pans are different and so is the rear carpet humps and rear carpet design. 1979 carpet had pinch welt at the rear door jamb, 1976 carpets tucked under the rear riser and was way different.
If you want loop carpet, for your 1979 I can custom order it, you'd have to email me at service@Willcoxcorvette.com or give Tommy a call Monday at 812-288-7103.

Cool bro, I like it! I have similar carpets for my baby. But my wife makes me often take her stupid dogs to the vet. Really a lot of wool is pouring from these animals. I am thinking of buying vacuum for a pet hair. What do you say about this manufacturer, or maybe you know the best options. I accept any advice.
Every house with carpet will ultimately suffer from carpet stains, carpet odors and carpet dents. So always hire a professional carpet cleaner for cleaning your carpet properly. I usually hire XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX for cleaning purposes. They always give good and reliable services to their clients at a competitive cost.
