Carpet dye question/recommendation.
Currently they're an almost golden brownish orange color, they came in a car with a dark saddle tan interior. I'm re-dying the interior in Buckskin or Light Saddle Tan (hopefully, still waiting for the paint to arrive) and want black carpets.
I see that a new set of carpets runs around $300 give or take, but these carpets are in great shape and if I can dye them, all the better.
Thanks for any help here !
After quick read through it seems like I just I might be better off just mixing up a nice tub of thinned out flat black Rustolem paint and dipping the carpet into it. Being that it's pretty much made of a plastic fiber it seems like it would work out fine and get deep into the "nap" of the carpet as well. Much better than just spraying the upper surface and hoping for some penetration. Massive fail? I'll just buy new.
