Default mystery spring

Came from somewhere in 79. Pulled dash to install new one and I can't identify where this goes. Can anyone offer insight?
Thanks, Mike

I've had the interior (including many of the switches) completely apart in my '79 and I don't recall a spring like that anywhere.

I bring this thread back to life just to issue a warning.
Even if you believe what you are being told, don't thrown anything away until you are finished with what you are working on. I am sure no one intentionally gives bad advise but some times the info is just wrong!
Turns out the mystery spring goes in the glove box light switch. Without this spring you will need a new switch. Not a big deal.

Glad you kept it, glad you found the purpose and glad to learn something new about my '79!
