Default 68 Corvette coupe interior trim question

Good morning. My 68 coupe has two rear quarter/pillar trim panels that have the courtesy lights mounted on them. They look like this: http://www.parts123.com/corvettecent...50g&ukey=18075

My question is, there's a gap of around 1" where they meet the sides of the rear window, which looks kind of sloppy. Is there a trim piece that I am missing, or is this the way it was?

Hi 55,
Here's a photo (71) showing the quarter trim abutting the window seal. (The window isn't in place.)
With the window in place the gap is pretty well hidden by the aluminum frame.

Does the quarter trim in your car appear to be fitting properly at the door opening?

Regards,
Alan

How is the quarter trim fit here?

Hi Alan. Please refer to your second picture. Rightmost is the rubber window seal. Check. Leftmost is the textured "sail" panel. Check. What is that 1"? vertical black covered foam/rubber layer in between them? That is what I don't have.

Hi 55,
That is the lip/flap that's part of the rear window rubber seal.
You can see it in this photo.
I would think the 68 seal had it but perhaps it didn't.
Regards,
Alan

This surface of the frame abuts the rubber strip. I don't think it's intended as a seal, but perhaps it is.
