Went and looked at what the owner called a Monza hatch back C3 today. It was the owners fathers and he knows nothing about it. Pretty cool.
I have never seen one before. Has any one else?

Reason: Title was incorrect
Nice off-road stance in the rear. Rear window looks like an awkward fit, squared up at the bottom when it should be rounded, rounded at the top where it needs to be squared up against the straight lines of the rear window/targa bar. Has to be a home made modification, no shop would let something like that out the door, even back in the "Corvette Summer" seventies.
It most definitely is a Chevrolet Monza rear hatch however:

its a 74, no engine or trans in it. I have done body work for years. modifications are pretty straight as well as the body. Whoever did it, knew what they were doing. hatch opens and closes. pretty cool. heck of a lot more room in the back than my 73.
Seen a few in pics never in person
different but like the fact you can pop the hatch to get useage out of it
Wheels look like old centerlines or a knockoff
those must be 275/60 look like baloons..car is still cool in its own way
A subtle mod/short spoiler to the rear would help ?
The Monza Spyder came with just such a short subtle spoiler that really helps the look of the hatch a great deal. Looks a bit like the rear end treatment on the 1979 and up C3 Vettes.
Whoa, was I ever wrong, something that my wife often points out. What I took for a poorly designed well executed one-off (I still believe that the bottom straight edge doesn't match the curves of the C3) is really a kit that sold in the zillions. Sorry for the glib response, kinda like to see one in the flesh now. Have to check the Pro Shop cruise night come Spring.
