Default EFI conversion option(s)

There may already be a thread out there that I can't pin down, but has anyone done a recent (as I know they have gone through some fairy significant upgrades over the past few years) EFI conversion to their vette

I am mostly drawn to the FiTech system since it is the only system that has the command center, therefore negating the need for a return line which would make the install much easier -- which is important since I am planning on doing the install myself.

I currently have a newly rebuilt 383 in my 71' (still has less than 500 miles on the rebuild) with a 600 CFM carburetor which is undoubtedly restricting my power gains so a upgrade to either a larger carb, 750CFM, or a EFI is inevitable...thoughts/ experiences would be appriciated???

I haven’t installed the Fitech setup, but I have been interested in an efi for a while. It appears as though you should stay away from the command center.

I've got the Terminator efi. I would have gone for the sniper as it's a more simple install. I use the original hardline from tank to terminator. At the rear I have the C5 FPR.
So install is TBI - FI hose - hardline - FI hose - C5 FPR - 1 bend hardline to the pump and 1 bend hardline to the return. I used the Tanksinc FI conversion tank. I don't think it gets much simpeler.
Currently I'm swapping the C5 FPR with a Holley regulator to lower the pressure. I know the FPR at the rear is not ideal but the fuel pressure with the C5 FPR was stable so I assume it will be with the Holley.
If you go with the sniper, you will need to run a return from the engine compartment to the rear

I have the Holley Sniper with the Fitech Go Command fuel center, no return line needed. same as this guy

Holley easier to hookup, Fitech installed in drivers side fender where charcoal cannister was.

Went with Holley for many reasons but one was it wasn't limited to 400hp

I thought the command center was supposed to eliminate the need to run a line back to the tank. Why did the guy in the video run the vent line back?

Do you have a picture of where you mounted the command unit?

This is a handy comparison chart. For me, I wanted an integral ECU to simplify the wiring and for it to be completely self-tuning (which isn't shown in this chart).
