original hoods did not have smooth surface on the underside.
like yours does, however someone could have made it slick on the underside.

68 BB hood is different on latch mounting area...it took me a while to figure that out when I tried to put it on my 71. Yours looks like a 69-72. Another give away is whether the emblem holes were originally for 427 or 454 or nothing (LT-1)
