1969 corvette L46

Could someone describe how to get this button out? Frustrating. I bought a new instrument console and I'm trying to transfer parts over.

Hi b,
There should be a little round spring clip on the shaft.
I 'believe' you have to push the shaft of the button out of the clip from the rear side of the bezel?

Thanks..

There are prongs on the rear of the button that I had to pry.. Then it came apart.
