Default Craziest engine mods

What are some of the craziest engine swaps or mods you've seen in a C3? I'm not saying there's anything wrong with original engines, but if you didn't have one to start with, what would you throw in there?

Craziest I saw is when a guy ordered $10k worth of LS swap stuff because "his engine was weak and needed a rebuild".

I took one look at his original engine and noticed the primary throttle plates on the Holley were only opening about 40% and the secondary's were not opening at all from a bent throttle pedal arm. Bent it back and he gained about 50 hp. He put the LS stuff up on CL the next day.

A 4 rotor Mazda is the nuttiest I have seen.

There was a recent thread of a Lemons racer with a BMW strait 6 in it.

If I had a C3 without an engine I would probably get a 5.3 LSx engine.

R

Several years ago early 2000's there was a thread in the C3 section of a guy who engineered a 1300hp Twin Turbo into a C3 that was a work of art but when it hit the road all it would do was spin the rear tires.

I'm sure the tread is still around here somewhere.

of course the exhaust is upside-down and might have some hood clearance issues, but...

@Dynra Rockets, wow, that's crazy. You would think the guy would have checked over everything on his engine before dumping money into a swap like that.

I've seen a few threads on a BMW swap into Vettes, not the route I'd choose for a swap, but everyone has their idea of a perfect swap.

Warp drive would be a first for me, not sure I've seen a successful conversion done yet

I've got a buddy who has a C4 who for awhile was talking about dumping a twin turbo Mercedes V-12 into it. I talked him out of it.

If money were no object, I think I'd throw a 572 with a 6 speed into a C3, to "recreate" an L-88 clone. That would be a fun/crazy car.

The one I liked the best was a C3 with a Boss 429 in it.

A few years back there was a post about a bloke in Canada that fitted a 6.5litre GM diesel into his C3.
