Hi jm,
From the photo it appears the car you're working on is a 78+ ?
If it is…. I'm not sure!!??

Alan was showing a 71 year vette dash board

the early ones had a wiper door override , headlight override and a wiper blade arm control **** on that metal piece .Your model will just have the one push/pull ****.

what year is the car your working on ? they changed the dash shape for the later c3 model.

What you have is a later model which changed to a new style dash by then (what year is it btw? )

I you google your model year it shows a different shape insert is needed .

they make some good glue these days ,so some strips of thin alloy or some fibreglass offcuts glued along the back wont show and be strong enough to hold that on .

That's what I would do for my car ! You probably should give the owner the option of getting a new dash panel as well .

Good luck
