Top gap adjustment
See picture below of the odd gap on my drivers side T Top. I swear it was in alignment when I first rec'd the car from my cousins wife last year. After removing and re-install them maybe 8 or 10 times, this is what it looks like and I cannot figure out what can be adjusted to re-align it......or what I may have done to cause this. Drives me crazy. Any tips (hopefully with photos) would be appreciated. Thanks, OLE442
Hi O,
The fit of the roof panels is determined by 4 point on the panel:
pin in front outer corner
wedge and receiver on rear outer corner
2 tongues and receivers along the center support bar
All 4 locations offer adjustment.
Is the 'wedge' on the rear outer corner of the halo seating properly in the receiver on the corner of the roof panel?
Regards,
Alan
Front corner pin.
Note 2 12 pint bolts that allow it to be adjusted.
Front and rear center tongues.
Note bolts and shims for adjustment.
Wedge receiver on rear outer corner of roof panel.
Wedge on halo.
The 2 screws allow it to move up and down and toward the center of the body.
Alan you are just incredible!!!!!!!!! I am running out of space to save all these tech tips you post!!!!! How many photos of your car do you have and how do you index them to find them?Ike

Hi Ike,
I'm working with about 10,000 photos now.
I have them divided into 5 groups… General, Interior, Exterior, Mechanical, and Chassis.
The majority of the photos are of my car, but there are many from other cars too, and some from the net.
Some of the photos get used over and over, and some have never been used.
Regards,
Alan

Wow Alan......what more could I ask for. I'll start looking in the wedge area since that is where the problem seems to be and it appears that would be the easiest to have gotten out of adjustment.
As soon as I saw Alan's pcs I ran out to look at my 77 and it seems by then they removed the adjustment bolts in the first photo. How should the later cars be adjusted?

Well Alan, I washed the Vette today and looked at the latches and hardware on both side of the car. The passenger side rear latch has a bolt in the end that fits into an opening and pulls the rear of the T-top down onto the seal. The drivers side is missing this bolt so I'll have to try to find one. It must have vibrated out because it fit well when I first rec'd the car. I'll look around under the seat and if not, the search will be on. I just hate it when things don't align right......especially when they once did!!
