Stood-up the lift today. I am about half way done with the garage. Floor, electrical, high-lift for the garage doors, and lift complete. Insulation, heater, painting, and doo-dad's to follow. Then, a second lift and another Vette!! :-)
P.S. Yes, I realize that the front-end of my C3 is sitting at least two inches high. I am taking care of that very soon. ;-)
Which model Bend Pak? And if you don’t mind what is the height and depth of your garage?I’m currently in a similar situation, new C7 and a 69 427 convertible.
Might be a good idea to dynabolt your lift to the floor, would hate to see any of those corvettes damaged by the lift collapsing. I am not being picky, just a warning i did see a pic of a lift that had collapsed with a classic car on top, Not a good scene

True....make sure it's exactly where you want it to stay
Very nice! I have a similar Bend Pak lift for 10 years now, mine's never been bolted down and its never moved out of position. I don't see a reason to unless there is worry of bumping into a post with another car. Otherwise, I don't see a reason to bolt it down.

It's a model HD-9. Depth of garage is 20'. Height is 11'.

I've did a lot of research on this lift in particular, prior to purchasing. I am comfortable leaving it unbolted. I'll never admit it if I have to eat those words. ;-)
How would that work with 9' ceiling? Where would the lift stop in respect to the ceiling.
Nice looking cars and garage, good luck with them
You should be fine at 9'. I have stacked 2 Corvettes in a garage with a ceiling less than 9'. You have 4' for each Corvette and 4" for the lift. So that leaves 4" of space above each Corvette.

The lift has "stops" every 4", so it will stop where you tell it. 9' is tight, but it may still work. Check your specifications, but I believe the height of both of your cars is approx. 48" each. That puts you at 8' of car. Of course, you need extra clearance for the lift rails (that the top car sits on). If you lift your garage door, and back your top car in, you "may" be able to make it work. Breakout the tape measure and see if it works. Depending on what is above your garage, framing-out a "box" for the windshield (or top) to fit into may be something to think about.
Thanks guys
I am in the research phase now. I don't want to open the ceiling since I use the loft overhead for storage. I have been looking at all lift types, 2-4 post, maxjack, and have a Qwik lift now. I may come back with some more questions but first have to setup my machine shop and wire it.
Gary,
I have 9'2" ceiling height and can fit 2 Corvettes in there. It is tight but they do go. I have tape marked on my lift so I know which "click" to stop at. At the highest it will go, little room above the top so I can pull it off the stops the Vette parks under it very well. My Cobra fits also, Roll bars are the highest point on that car. The only problem I see with you is you are quite a bit taller than me. I can stand under my cars at the highest click and my head rubs the floor pan. You are going to be bent over working under the car. Don't know if that is an issue for you but something to consider. I'm 5'7"

Hi Gordon
Good to hear you have your garage setup again. As you know I am a little taller than you and yeah that is a concern but I really want to get away from stands now, I'm not getting any younger like seem to be doing!!!LOL. If I can work on a rolling stool I think it would work. I'll continue to do my homework. Once I get my shop setup you should stop in for a look. I was thinking of starting seminars here again instead of the 5 hours drives to PA every year.

Let me know when you are setup and I'll stop in for sure. I would not go back to jack stands. The cold hard concrete is tough on us older guys.
