Wheel spacers
it's worth buying this wheel spacers for 30mm per wheel? Here in Europe cost $200 on website. If i found somewhere I will pay $100 if the change is worth and if is safe for my car. Anyone have it? Or please give me another options.
- the Red Vette is my car without spacers.
Now, back to the spacer issue. I also like the wheel and tire pushed out in the wheel well but, by looking at the tire size on your stock rallies, it appears that you may have clearance issues. 30 mils might not sound like much but it is a full 1.18 ins, which is necessary to clear the length of the factory wheel studs.
Most of us that employ wheel spacers use them to compensate for positive offset wheels such as C4 and up or to change to different wheel bolt pattern.
My opinion is that in your application it is not worth the expense or the trouble. While wheel adapters (billet not cast, and properly torqued without an impact wrench) can be used I wouldn't in your case. Remember, your aluminum rallies are engineered by GM to work in harmony with your suspension and bearing loads.
Hope this helps.
But it kills the bearings, and I would not recommend for the rest of transmission, suspensions...
And when you kill a wheel bearing far away from home, it can cost some serious money. I learnt the hard way (on another car).
