Default Vibrating alternator

Doesn’t come through as well on video, but the alternator seems to be shaking or vibrating a lot.

is this normal?

Not normal, take the belt off and spin it.
You will probably feel it binding up. How tight is the belt and what is the condition of it?

Hope this is of help

Correct, not common to vibrate. These are very easy alternators to rebuild. Kits are available everywhere.

Bad belt is my vote. Remove belt, inspect and replace it.

Spin alternator and see if it is obvious before tearing it down is my advice. Alternator is fairly easy to tear apart but the front nut can be a booger.

My 65 was making noise, took it to local starter alternator shop $50 new bearings & checked out.
I also agree with Door Gunner double check that mounting bracket, something looks loose.

Take the alternator out and check to see if the bracket has a crack.

Finally decided to look closely... found the bracket is cracked.
