Starting to tune the car, Engine is TDC (I think my phone died before I could verify with my phone/camera). Picture below is #1 plug a little gunky next is the distributer and since this is the first time I have ever done something like this I am taking baby steps.

Since I am having issues with this engine I decided to do a compression test last night,
#1 - 150lb
#3 - 150lb
#5 - 150lb
#7 - 60lb
#2 - 60lb
Went back to #1 - 60lb
The gage broke.

Rechecked and all cylinders are 170-180.
How hard is it to pull out the cam shaft with the engine in the car?
So I found a good article and it describes my engine problems to a tee, To much cam on an engine that does not have enough compression to support it compounded by a distributer that needs to be limited on its advance because you need to start with a lot of advance just to keep the car idling.
If it ever warms up enough to get the car out I am going to take the vacuum advance on the distributor to full engine vacuum to get it to advance sooner and this will limit total advance as well If that does not work I am going to an electronic distributor so I can limit total advance. When I think the distributor is dialed in mostly I will start playing with the carb.
Until it gets warm back to adjusting my window's
