The emergency brake console on my '74 was broken apart by a "friend" leaning on it to exit the car. I bought another but just couldn't leave well enough along and thought to try to fix it rather than toss it in the trash.
Fiberglass and epoxy did the trick of piecing it back together solidly, some fiberglass and polyester filler on top smoothed out the crack repair and a coat of prime made it all look fine, but it was now smooth like the early cars rather than pebble/leather grain as it should be.
A little experimenting and I found that a two very light coats of Rustoleum Hammertone paint, shot from a distance so that the paint spatters a bit replicates the factory pebble grain almost perfectly. Three light finish coats of Krylon Satin Black and done ! !
It's most likely going into the Vega along with original Vette shifter console and shift plate. Worked out neat !
Hi TE,
It would be nice to see some PHOTOS!
Duplicating the 'grain' found on the surface of many interior parts is a challenge.... you may have discovered a solution.

Alan
We all have cracks to repair on our door panels. So we're all going to need this in the corners of the door panels where they break. As previous poster said pics please? And since all of us need to jam are elbow on that cover to get out of these cars, we need to figure out a way to make it strong enough that we can do that.
