I bought a set of used reproduction Oem side pipes covers and was curious if the holes are predrilled for the rocker holes. The holes don't seem to match up with my 72. A couple do but not all of them. What is good way to repair these holes that don't match up.
Hi Joey,
I would consider using the existing mounting holes in the insulators and drill the appropriate/needed holes in the rocker channel to receive self tapping screws.
I'm not sure changing the screws spacing is a good idea.
There is a reinforced area in the fiberglass insulator at each point the original holes penetrate it.

Alan
They should have matched up... not sure why. We just installed a set on a 69 in the shop. You do have to remove some of the front fender lower fiberglass and the rear. Use this pdf as a guide. http://repairs.willcoxcorvette.com/w...tion-guide.pdf
Hi,
I believe the location of the blind nuts in the rocker channel changed for the 70 model year when the 1 piece rocker trim was introduced.

Alan

You guys are correct, I missed the fact that the car was a 72. The holes are different.
