A business associate I deal with just bought a 72 LT-1. He was told he is the 4th owner now. He would really like to know it's history of owner ship. He said he tried googling the vin # and nothing came up. He also said the seller wasn't much help ether.
I told him I would ask you guy's for any suggestions. The info you guy's know here is amazing!
Hi MAL,
Drew Papsun in Connecticut has been tracking LT-! cars and creating a data base of information on them for many years.
He's a member of the Forum and posts on occasion.
You might want to contact him.
I think he'd be pleased to have the info on this individual's car if he doesn't already have it, and could perhaps offer some info about it if he has it.
Regards,
Alan

Alan, Thank You!
I'm going to see this guy tomorrow. I will pass along your info to him. Also, I'll ask if I can takes some pictures of the car to share here.
He did tell me, it's a driver quality car, and plans to do just that...drive it!
Hi MAL,
It would be terrific to see some photos of it... especially if it hasn't been seen before!
Drew is quite a nice person and I'm sure your friend would enjoy talking to him.

Alan

Allan,
Here's the some pictures of the LT-1 I had mentioned. Sorry for the quality of the pictures. I did the best I could do, with the little time I had.
The owner of the car was pretty pleased with the info you and 62 corvette provided. So much so, He gave me a better price on our business dealings.
I've been in his warehouse many times ,and just noticed his car sitting in a corner covered up.. Funny how a mutual interest in corvettes can total change a business relationship.
Hi Mal,
It's ALWAYS good fun to see photographs!
This looks like a NICE car.
The new owner must be pretty excited.
An early present from Santa!?!

Alan

Alan,
I was mistaken when I said he had just bought the car. He has owned the car for a couple of years now. He said he's always wanted a C3 and it had to be a chrome bumper car. The car being a LT-1 was a bonus. Even though it's on the low end of the HP scale. He still gets a kick every time he gets behind the wheel.

Derek,
The owner said he was looking for a car he could actually drive. From what I 've been told, he certainly does!
You can check out the LT1 registry here: 1970-1972 LT1 RegistryThis registry tracks 1970-1972 factory built LT1's including the ZR1 option with data from surveys, trim tags, engine stampings and documentation. You can scroll down the page to click on the link to add your car. Or you can access the direct link here: LT1 Survey Form The goal is to be able to share data from the registry in the future however I will not post sensitive information such as vin, trim tag, paperwork and owner history. This would include color combo, option % etc.Below is a sample of some of the data I would like to share. On the registry page you will see of forum member James' (firstgenaddict) 1971 survivor Brandshatch Green coupe and an engine picture of Jack's (jaxlt1) 1972 Elkhart Green coupe with original paint and 43k original miles. Both great, original cars!
