Hi S,
Does the window rattle when it's up or down or both.
That will have a bit to do with what the solution may be.
Regards,
Alan
Each of these bolts is used to control a pad that rubs against the inside of the window to help prevent it from rattling by putting a little pressure on it.
It COULD help your rattle but the rattle COULD be caused by something else being loose or worn.
This is the original vapor barrier you asked about. It's semi-opaque plastic sheeting held in place with seam sealer.
I just replaced the felts for my windows. They rattled when open. Just so you know the ones from Ecklers have metric bolts and the originals have standard threads.
Is all the door locking hardware accessible once you remove the vapor barrier?
Thanks.

I took off the door liner and this is what I found. Looks like someone else before me took off the vapor barrier. The drivers doors glass does not rattle and the lock works fine. The passenger door lock does not function and the glass rattles like crazy. I have my work cut out for me.
I also noticed the passenger glass does not seal all the way at the front part of the window.
When mine rattled I replaced the felt rub pads that Alan pointed out and it cured most of it the remaining was cured by replacing the lower regulator mounting bracket that had broken.
As soon as it warms up I will replace those felt anti rattle pads. Plus the glass needs an adjustment in the front. I just know that will be a learning experience!

Hi,
Here are the 2 pads installed in the door frame... one near the front and one near the rear of the door.
You have to make the adjustments before the door trim panel is installed.
Regards,
Alan
Note the tab on the pad and the slot in the door frame that keeps the pad at the correct angle.
could his linkage have lost the rubber anti-rattle parts?? Looking at the pictures I noticed that you car is newer than mine(76), so your lock linkage etc. is different than mine, so I may be barking up the wrong tree. Also could your rollers need lubrication?? this keeps them from wearing out as they work up & down. I think a complete disassembly and put together is what might be needed , replacing all the worn pieces. I did this to my door a couple of times,(took everything out of doors when I had the car painted a couple of years ago) and it really improves the use of the electric windows and door mechanisms. (had the car since 1980, a 76).I don't think it is that hard to learn how to take windows out of these doors, and work on the parts in the doors. Adjustment is also easy to learn(IMO). Maybe you could find a corvette club and get some help from a member there, ready to pass on their knowledge to another, ESPECIALLY to a Veteran!! I know I would if you were close to my town! Where are you, maybe someone here would help you!
I replaced the two anti rattle felt pieces and it helped a little. The rollers are definitely worn out. I bought some new ones and since that job will take more time I am waiting for warmer weather to replace them since my garage is not heated.
