Default PS remote reservoir ideas

Working on Davids racer and his setup uses a remote system. Hydroboost is also in the system. It has a #10 inlet fitting. How big do we need and where to locate it is the main issue. What are you guys using for setups.

I'm using the Tilton bottle for the Hyd clutch. The PS is going to need a good sized reservoir. The one on my LS 3 looks to hold maybe a quart. That would be the minimum I would think.

PSC makes numerous PS remote tanks, several of which have the extra port for hydroboost, some have an internal baffle and others even a filter.

I have not mounted mine yet but I'm thinking I'm going to attach it to the spreader bar. Once the time comes it'll work itself in there somewhere.

Gordon,
Check out Chase Bays p/s online, they have a really nice aluminium reservoir. Approximately 3"diameter by 5" long, dual baffled with oring base ports for use with AN or barbed hose fittings.Nice mount options too. I just bought one, waiting for delivery to install on my LS project.

I have to mount it kind of high due to the position of the PS pump and its intake port. A spreader bar mount would be to low for this application.

Rogman played around with mounting on the firewall, lots of hose though

https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...your-pics.html

Still needs to be accessible, any chance of getting to the rad support? or the inner fender near it?

Anyway, I'm sure you'll find a good solution

As l8279vette states I'm using a KRC pump [blew up OEM pump and a different brand aftermarket] , with a remote tank in my 6t8 along with a cooler mounted off the frame just inside the gills. Mounted the reservoir to the firewall outboard of the master cylinder and lower. PITA to fill, requires the use of flex funnel. T

I went through this earlier in the year. I initially set mine up with a KRC reservoir which caused significant fluid aeration and pump whine. I researched everything (PSC and even custom circle track stuff) and couldn't find anything with the right dimensions and fitting locations. I finally found Chase Bays. This is a great baffled design and is short enough to fit in front of the brake master with the -10 suction fitting on the bottom. It also has a very innovative 'snake' cap baffle which eliminates seepage through the vent. It took me several tries to get the hose routing I was happy with around the control arm. My combo required a cooler to completely eliminate the pump whine.

I went the same route as Mooser with the PSC reservoir. Its not plumbed in yet but here is a pic of it mounted.

As soon as I get a chance I'll take a pic of a reservoir that I have that just might work for you and David ! If so I'll pack it up and send it to you !

This came off of a 72 GMC Sierra Grande with a big block !

The pump had no reservoir itself on this and by going to a custom hose shop you could have one built and mount wherever you wish ! I'll send a pic soon!

Got a pic for you of the reservoir still attached to the pump !

For anyone getting ideas from this thread, just be aware that the Type 2 pump will have different suction line locations than the Saginaw. The worst part of my install was due to where the Vintage Air frontrunner places the pump suction inlet in relation to the upper control arm. The suction outlet from the reservoir had to be in the right spot on order the clear everything and not route too close to the top of the moving control arm.

Here is my Canton 77-250 that feeds a March Performance Type II PS pump. Reservoir is mounted to the fender between the alternator and the master cylinder. If I was doing a Hydroboost, I would probably use the PSC reservoir with some 90 degree hose fittings.
