(( 69 or 79 rally rims ))

Also, on original 69 rims there is a BB sized ball weld on the outer rim which I believe indicates the "low" spot of the rim. The 1's on 69's have a serif on the top, the 1's on 79 rims are just a straight bar. The fonts are also a bit larger on the 68/69 rims versus the 78/79 rims.
If you do a search you will probably find a few posts I have contributed to with pictures of original 69 rims with 68 and 69 dates. I don't have them on my device anymore but I'll try to take some tomorrow.

Hi 72n84,
Here's a photo of a stamp on a 70 wheel from the net.
I realize you're asking about a 69 but this one may give you an idea of the appearance of typical stamps in that era.
Ed, where the first 3 characters in a 'gang' stamp? Note how 'even' they are.
Regards,
Alan
Here're the stamps on a 69 wheel I have.
Note the dashes between the first 3 characters.

I don't know for sure if it was a gang stamp but I would think it was. The first 3 characters are very consistent on the rims I have seen. There are also, two types of 69 dated wheel stamps for the first 3 characters. One is the example you have shown, the other has no dashes, with a slightly larger looking font, very similar to the K18 of 1968 dated AZ wheels for 1969. They are more uncommon but I have seen them. I'll try to find pics.
The 1970 font is also a different font/different stamp set.

For example,
no serif would look like this...... l
With a Serif would look like this.....1
On the 69 rim, the top serif is there but no lower serif as shown in the above example which has serifs both on top and on bottom.
Webster defines it as:
Definition of serif. : any of the short lines stemming from and at an angle to the upper and lower ends of the strokes of a letter. —
