all Corvette drivers are "____" - fill in the blank
So I am driving a truck on the interstate today. I have a CDL learner’s permit and the driving instructor with me. He’s is an obnoxious old bastard and will get under your fingernails instantly – but will definitely show you how to drive the truck if you can stomach the personality. Not easy.
It’s maybe 15 degrees and snowing like hell and I let a plow/sander merge ahead of me. Out of the blue a C6 comes zooming up the same ramp, cuts in front of me and tailgates the spreader that is actively throwing salt & sand all over the road. He then darts around it into the passing lane and takes off like a shot.
The driving instructor then lets loose a torrent of “all corvette drivers are a******es’” “if you see a corvette there’s an a*****e” in it and so on. It goes on long enough to be cringe worthy. THAT one certainly was. I kind of doubt he owned it from what I saw.
I’ll make a point to put my Corvette hat in the closet until after the road test next week. I got a chuckle out of this …. and think maybe now that I’m home I’ll sit down and have a drink or three.

Different.
I don't even tell people I have one.
I don't wear corvette clothing. Most of the shirts I see are not my style anyway.
If I see someone taking a picture of my car in the parking lot I keep my head down and wait for them to get back in their car.
I think my car is beautiful and advertising I have it is like bragging, and I try to keep from doing that.

Haha that’s funny but at the same time that guy was right about the driver being an a$$. When I ordered my C7 back in the summer of 14, it seemed like every Vette owner either fell into two categories (old man or as&ho/&). Haha! But once I got to know the owners, I realized that while there were plenty of older guys with vettes, there wasn’t as many as$ho/&s among them. I’m used to the older crowd since I’m in to old cars, you learn a lot and get to hear a lot of funny “back in the day” stories, haha! I just walk away from the a$$hats (but that’s with any hobby/car brand), haha!
You should wear your hat and help shine the light on not all owners are a$$ho/&s, haha!

Agreed - but the guy I'm talking about is all transmit and zero receive.
Just need his truck for the damned road test so I suffer the nonsense.
Maybe a Corvette bit him when he was a kid or something. Wait - that would have probably been back before the Spanish American War so maybe not .....
Oh - and my buddy gave me the hat I didn't buy it.

lots of people hate others that have ,what they themselves cant afford.I hate anybody who holds up traffic in the passing lane .I hate anybody who does not know how to merge in traffic.Theres so many bad drivers out there that you just cant stereotype any more.

You certainly can't (truthfully) say "all corvette owers" are this or that but there are a lot of arrogant ones. I like humble people.

Its a thing about corvettes they are a high profile specialty car that does in fact attact a certain type person that in general is not positive, "t,a,c,o" comes to mind as stereotypes do not pop out of thin air,
The fellow your truck driver saw and commented on was obviously one of the bad apples going by the way he was driving and he wasnt driving a mustang or 4RE
Its not "all" and While i have zero idea what percent of vette owners are like this in over 35 years of putzing with these cars i have seen and i say this very sadly at least 75 % are,
Its not something we can ever hope to change we can only try our bests not to be that way and to set a good example,

I guess I am lucky and have yet to meet a vette owner or see a vette owner acting like an ***. Some people I do know think if you own a vette you have money, which in my case very untrue. My problem is that most people including some vette owners think just because it is a corvette part, it's worth it's weight in gold.
Very smart of you to keep your mouth closed and get your CDL. A lot of these old timers are full of knowledge that I would rather get from them than anyone else. And I have a feeling that he would have spatted off the same thing if it was any other high profile car.

I was just surprised as hell to see someone driving a nice 'vette out in the bad weather like that - especially running it up the *** of a big truck spreading salt. ‘Drive it like you stole it’ comes to mind. Maybe they did.
People can get very full of themselves and I've seen it other hobbies as well. Right now I’m thinking of guy I’ve run into a few times at meets – you would think Henry Ford rose from the dead to personally make his Mustang for him. What’s worse is his hanger-on buddy. I just agree and make the right head nods and move on.
As for my driving instructor buddy – think Archie Bunker with a bad case of hemorrhoids. I’ve heard a little too much on a few too many topics already unrelated to truck driving. Hopefully in a week I can scrape this guy off my shoe.

In my case i'd say I was a fanatic and proud of it. I wear Corvette t shirts all the time, but I don't look at it as bragging. I also hate that people say I must be rich because I have a Corvette. I have a 79 and I always tell people that their slightly used Accord or Camry cost 2 to 3 times as much as my Corvette. I also tell them that while they're making payments on their car going down if value, I paid cash for mine and it at least holds its value if its not increasing a little. I can't recall every meeting a Corvette a$$hole fortunately.

All Corvette drivers are... HUMAN.
Inserting any other descriptive word is "wishful thinking".

I have heard people say the same about BMW drivers. We have those too, I'm starting to think it is me....
Seriously though I'd hate to reserve my distain for people to those who only drive one type of car. There are plenty of BMW drivers is can not stand. One of the coolest and nicest "car guys" I've met had Lambos (plural). So it just depends n the person.
