Default Brake light switch wiring

I'm putting a new wiring harness in my 68/69 ('68 car, but '69 interior and wiring). I've been having difficulties... I'll break my current dilemmas into two posts. For this one, I'm trying to get the brake switch hooked up, but it looks like the connectors don't match up. Here's the switch plug:

But as best I can tell, this is the plug on the wiring harness (same color wire of the same gauge and ends up about the right place):

So am I looking at the right socket in the wiring harness? If so, do I have the "wrong" brake light switch? Thanks!
Eric

If you don't have this diagram, you want it.
I use OOSOEZ on my 70'.

Your second picture, with the 2 terminals straight across from each other and the 2 clips is the brake light switch for 69.

Hi EM,
I agree with TimAT,
Here's that connector/connection on the brake lamp switch in my 71.
What does the switch you're using look like?
Regards,
Alan

It looks like you have a 68 brake switch and a 69 connector on your harness.

68 Has a one year only brake light switch from old Chevrolet trucks. If you have a 68, there is no hole on the brake pedal to mount the small bracket that pushes in the 69-up plunger.
I ended up brazing mine on the pedal. People have threads on here about converting the "bastard" 68 brake light switch. You will call the 68 brake switch many other names when you have to change and adjust it. Lou.

Captain Obvious here.

you have 2 options. One of which is to pull the old 68 harness and cut the plug off it to add to your system. #2. is obbviously to try and mickey mouse in a 69 switch but you need to change the mount or modify it. I would just swap the plugs

I know this is old...but just for info in case somebody comes looking (like I was just doing). You can buy an adapter harness to connect a 68 harness to a 69 and newer brake light switch. Here is a link, and an image for when the link dies:

"Conversion harness for 1968 Corvette to use later 1969-1982 Corvette style brake pedal light switch. Connects from the dash harness to the brake light switch. Must use 1969 and later style light switch and bracket which is not included."
