pitting, not smooth, angle seems wrong.

Looks like the base of the brake line bracket is not welded flush up against the T arm. Looks like there is 1/4 to 3/8 of weld material between the bracket and the T arm.

Interestingly, while this discussion has been going on for 3 days, now, the OP hasn't yet mentioned if these were the wheels that he previously used on the car, they fit properly, and just the tires are different (new).

Yes these are the original matching wheels. Yes the arm was inspected before blasting and powder coasted. Yes, the entire frame was inspected and placed on computer to make sure we had a straight frame. What I do not know is if the bracket was moved in the past.

Oh, I forgot to mention all new bushing were purchased and placed on the trailing arms. Everything has been gone through---engine, trans, rear end, front susp and rear susp. Many many dollars have been spent.

But if it was moved in the past, wouldn't it have given you trouble in the past? Just a wild thought, are the tires (the new ones) all the same size?

The OP didn't have trouble in the past because this new tire is a larger size than he ran before. He ordered them because he'd read other posts where this size, 235/60/15, fit other cars with no problems.
I, too, have the same size BFG's on my '72 but they are on 8" rims. There is absolutely no interference with the parking brake brackets at all. His bracket looks to have been moved/modified by someone in the past.

You need to throw more money at this problem, I think your problem lies at the TA vice the tire.

I understood that. What I meant was, are all 4 of the new tires 235s, or 3 of them 235s, and the 4th one, the one in the picture, something larger, thus the clearance issue.

The '69-'82 8-inch Rally wheel will help some, with an additional .28 inches of backspacing. And the tire will seat and square the tread better.

And while you are doing it, you should have gone to 245/60-15 instead. They fill the wheelwell better than the 235.

I was going to say that, too. Someone has welded that on maybe a reinforcing plate or something and it sticks too far out.
