Default 68-69(?) hood pin diameter question

Anyone with a 68 (probably a 69 as well) who can check the diameter of the tapered hood latch pin. I'm looking for the largest part of the diameter of the taper
Thanks in advance

For the 68 early 69 pin, I measure .77 inch.

My hood pins are from a later 69 built (Oct 69) and are different from JC68's. They are wider at the base at 0.95". They must have changed sometime in the year. It's more of a straight taper instead of shaped like a bullet.
