Default C3 Big block brackets are ugly!!!

Big block c3 vette owners with short water pump
dont have much to pick from when it comes to alt,pwr steering pump and ac brackets. I had found a power steering pump bracket that was chrome, looked great on the engine stand.... But wouldn't clear the X member. Had a sweet looking chrome alt bracket for it too. So after shoe horning the beast back in the car, it was back to the drawing board. I finally got a chrome pwr steering pump bracket for a long water pump, cut/ measure/ drill,,
Etc. Used stock brkt for measurements, fabbed my one of a kind swp bracket that fits, is chrome and looks sweet.

Welcome to the Forum!
As Vette DD mentioned, perhaps someone in the C3 section of the forum may have a good work around.
Best wishes with getting your big block looking like you want it to.

This is not a thread that should be posted in the Intros Section. I'm moving this to the C3 General Section as a better location for comments.

Oh I've been trying to find brackets from every source out there, ended up fabbing my own which looks really nice. Lots of hurdles to get over!

BBC Lwp pwr steering pump bracket,
Before re engineering it to work with SWp

Looked ready to install! Only to find out pwr steering pump would not clear Xmember. Took some reengineering but got there.

Those valve covers look really nice on the stand as well. Are you sure they will fit?
I've got a BB 73 with power brakes and a/c and I can't find any tall valve covers that will clear.
Do you have power brakes and a/c?

Looks nice. But a few bolt threads showing here would make me feel better.

Ugly is a pretty subjective thing.
GM was well known for just adding brackets to other brackets and not going back to the drawing board (ever?) but I'm not sure I'd go as far as ugly...

Personally I think the Grove flat plate brackets aren't exactly a great improvement in looks. Function and simple sure... but not really attractive, and the upper alternator bracket is maybe a little much.... for my tastes, but it's not my car.

I like the pulleys and a lot of the stuff I see on that motor and it's good to see someone doing some fabrication / modifications with these, as well as those who are keeping them as GM made them.

Any pics of the car?
M
