Does anyone have advice for 1979 stock 350 headers that fit without alteration and stock starter? Preferably ceramic coated.

When I get my engine build started I am using hedman headers 68301 long tubes. From what I have heard they fit good without modifications, and they are available in ceramic coting it's just a slightly different part number. They are also carb approved if you live in a pollution control area like I do

I have a 1971 and I just ordered the Headman 62306 ( https://www.summitracing.com/int/par...2306/overview/ )

because they are supposed to fit without any hammering. They work with straight or slant plugs and fit around the Z bar if you have a manual. waiting to get the block back from the machinist to confirm.

Hello
I looked up that part on the website and it does show this disclaimer.
100 - Will not fit steering damper inside front crossmember.

I dont know if that will cause interference or not.

I would just go with the 68301 because they are specifically designed for c3 corvettes not just any 350 chevy

My 79 has Hooker Super Comp headers that I took and had ceramic coated. I have a stock starter and it's a 4spd. I have no fitment issues and have not had any problems with the starter getting hot and not working correctly.

Long tube (custom exhaust downpipe) or shorty (stock exhaust downpipe)?

Your part number has the same warning.

100 - Will not fit steering damper inside front crossmember.

I have Doug's headers on my 350 with Tremec TKO600 and stock clutch linkage. No clearance issues. Quality headers and you can get them with ceramic coating.
