Default 70 Vacuum Help

Trying to get my Wiper door working and have some questions. On the Wilcox diagram 7 shows a hose going from the port on the vacuum solenoid to the wiper switch. On the pictures I find of the switch it shows that port is vaccum vent. If that is the case where does the hose to the wiper switch go?

Also I put a vacuum pump on the solenoid under the hood and it will not hold vacuum. Goes fro 15 psi to 0 in about 15 seconds. I am assuming it bad?

Thanks
Marty

Hi Marty,
Your second photo shows the proper hose routing for the wiper solenoid.
The port at the end of the solenoid (pointing to the right in the photo) IS a vent as you indicate.
The relay SHOULD hold vacuum.
But, it depends which port the vacuum gauge is attached to, and which ports are open or capped as to what indications you get from the gauge.
Do you have some literature that describes how to test the functions of the relay?
If not, you'll need some guidance.
Regards,
Alan

I was pulling vacuum from the port that is feed by the vacuum coming from the switch. Its the top port not the ones that control the actuators

I believe I figured out the routing. In the Wilcox diagram I see the filter once I blew up the diagram

With all due respect sir, have you bench tested your vacuum pump? You have an original GM wiper door relay. They are not noted for a vacuum leak on the top control chambers.
