Default Need Your Help Please - Locating A Creative Alternative

I am working to put turn signals in my 72 road racer and I have rectangular openings to place some rectangular lights in, but having trouble locating the lights.

I want to use double filament standard turn signal bulbs, not LED. Rectangular area is about 3-12" tall by 2" wide.

Do any of you remember or know of turn signals on other cars that may do the job?

Clear lens or amber lens will work, but i need to see what I can locate.

Ideas welcomed.

Thank you for your help.

Couldn't you just use a pair of side markers and turn them 90 deg.....?

Tried that, wrong kind of fitment for turn signal. Need a three wire for turn signal. Side marker holds two wire type. Hole not larger enough.

Side marker style is left in picture.
Turn signal style is right in picture.

Mount these back an inch or so. https://m.ebay.com/itm/2X-Universal-...QAAOSwZB9aR22Q or peruse ebay universal turn signal light and sift through 4000 ads and find something square.

Here you go-

These will solve your predicament -

Drill a hole and either rivet or screw the 1157 holder into the side marker housing- Done!!

or this one-

What about the turn signals from a 73?
If you want to mount something behind the grille look at some options here:

My grille has been powder coated black which makes it hard to see clearly. I had my first prototype here in chrome still so I am posting the opening so you can see it here. There are six tabs in the opening which I can remove. Opening dimensions are 3-1/2" top to bottom; and 2-3/8" side to side when tabs are removed.

I hope this makes it a bit more clear.

Oh, and the side marker light is unfortunately too large to fit into this opening. Forgot to mention that earlier.

Theres a bunch of 80-90s mini trucks that had chrome bumpers with rectangular signals with smaller bulbs. should maybe look into those. If i were you id just cruise a local junkyard to see what looks good.

How about a 64 Impala parking light assembly David? I think 63's will be similar in shape but a bit smaller.

I'd bet the pigtails will be plug and play with a 72 corvette front harness and mate right up as well
