Default A/C low pressure switch

Noticed a few days ago that the wires at the low pressure switch for the a/c had two wires somewhat frayed such that the wires were exposed. While not touching, still close. What would be the results if the two exposed areas "connected".

Since, have isolated the two wires from each other and secured them to be separate by using silicone. Covered the silicone, once cured with Ultra Black Permatex gasket maker to make the solution less visible.

Compressor would never cycle. Evaporator could freeze up, compressor could be damaged.
