I'm going to look at this '72 next week to see if it is worth salvaging for parts or rebuilding. Pics are not promising to me, but I'm too much of an optimist.
Parts car? If so, what parts are people looking for from a '72?
Seriously, it is all about the frame and birdcage rust.
That needs to be diligently inspected.
If those are good, then you have some options depending on price
If the water went up there hi just think how clean the underside is. Got all washed off. As far as what parts people are looking for off of a 72? You'll have a hard time selling the roof. Every other part someone wants.

I wouldnt worry about replacing the frame, They can be foound easily and replaced. The birdcage would be the deal killer for me. That seems like a lot of HARD work. Hopefully it can be saved

That water line is a splash line where rain splashed the mud up. I get it on my shed during heavy rains. My shed has never been under a foot of standing water.
Save it if you can! If the birdcage is salvageable, and it has a clear title, you can always replace the frame and restomod it.
I like the change in tides here,
I remember when people were told to run from nicer projects, and any and all projects were bottomless money pits,
I recall when rusty parts or a bad frame on a c3 was a death sentence,
Wasnt too long ago people would post how the simplest tasks are hard on a c3,
This change of mindset is is cool, frame swaps are now easy and cost effective, rust isnt a money pit or hard work to fix,
This certainly will save more c3s from the land fills.
Only if you want to wait 5 years to drive your Corvette... Only if you all your own work...
These cars aren’t so expensive that you can’t find a nice driver example for reasonable money and enjoy driving your car for 5 years instead of working on it
eastern nc. so Philadelphia is doable. a neighbor has a pretty good 73 body-birdcage. glass is good. he redid the windshield frame. then sold the car he was gonna put it on. price is right...
