Default Any Missouri C3 Owners?

New to the forum, and considering a purchase of a '69-'71 C3. Wondering what to expect in the way of up-front/annual ownership expenses. Anyone located in the KC area (or just Missouri) who has an idea of what to expect regarding title fees, personal property taxes, etc.? Apologies in advance if this has been asked and answered already. Feel free to admonish me and/or point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Bullshark is a pretty active Missouri C3 guy. You might send him a PM for contacts.

I'm in KC (Kansas Side though) and here it's only the bi-yearly antique tag ($35 for two years I think?).

News to me?? Historical plates in Mo. are a one time registration as far as I know. When registered as a historical vehicle, personal property taxes are a much lower % of assessed value (5% i think ??) Your are supposed to track your mileage and are limited to the mileage and places you can legally drive a historical vehicle, but no one pays much attention to that!! Sales tax is also assessed when purchased. That depends on where you live in the state. You have to have it titled in MO. before you can apply for historical or "Year of Manufacture" plates. That causes a PIA delay to get your car on the road.

Great information. Any idea what they use to value the car for property tax purposes? Sale price? NADA retail? Other?

Thanks, all.

Bullshark is mostly right, but I wonder how in the world he knows. ROTFLMFAO!!! Best bet is to get year of manufacture plates. Its a permanent registration. On my 74 vert, the personal property tax is based on a $100.00 valuation..
