Default 68 frame

Is a 68 frame different from a 69 or 70?
Would be a 4 speed frame.
Or is a 68-?????? 4 speed exactly the same?
Thanks
Dave

I had that added to my 68 frame that is now under my 69,
My 69 was an auto my 68 frame manual,
And my 69 will be manual, i also had a special custom bolt in transmission crossmember installed.....

Here are some older photos of my '68 frame. Don't know if they help but you can see that it does not have the angular braces on the back section. Also, kind of a general shot of the cross member but not much detail on that unfortunately.

Dave

As other have stated the dialog braces got added to the 68 frames late in the model year. There are other differences beyond this however as well. The front frame horns are different on a 68 compared to the later years. In 68 the radiator core support was bolted directly to the frame. In later years it was bolted to the front cross member. Also the hole spacing to mount the front frame extensions that hold the front cross member is also unique to 68.

John

Default 68

Does anyone know A approximate month or Vin number
That the diagonal braces were added and also is there a difference in 68-69 where the radiator support bolts at the bottom?
Thanks
Dave

My 26 March 68 Coupe frame did not have the extra back braces. Due to the 68 radiator support being a copy of the 63-67 design, as JC 68 stated, the radiator support bolted to the front frame horns like the 63-67's. So 68's have the front removable cross member not having the two holes to mount the 69-up radiator support. Lou.
