Default Tire size suggestions

I'm replacing my old tires for some new ones. I found the receipt for the old ones and the date on it was 1993. They're BFG T/A's in 245/60/15. I'm staying with my original 15x8 rally rims and wanted to know how large I can go on the rears without changing anything except maybe the E Brake bracket location? The fronts are going to stay the current 245 which fit fine. Just want a little bigger footprint on the rear. Suggestions from anyone running 60's series in 15" would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Duane,
Many people find they can use 255/60/15 tires, on original wheels, with little or no problems on many cars.
Moving the parking brake bracket opens up the options some. On original wheels, you need to be careful that as you go to even wider tires, the tires don't begin to protrude beyond the wheel arch...unless you like that look.
Regards,
Alan

Would the normal eye notice the difference in height between the 245/60/15 in the front--26.47 inches high and the 255/60/15 in the rear--27.05 inches high. I am thinking of going with this combo but don't want a raked look.

No raked look? Then 27" tires to fit on a 15x8 rim will be very, very limited.

doubt youd see a difference used to run 235 up front and 255 rear thought it looked just fine
the 235s were on a 7 in rim

That's what I have. It took me 6 months to realize that I did not have the same size front and back so not very obvious!! Ike
