What is the difference in the early vs late 1968 Coupe roof panels (halo)? Is there a known date or S/N split?

Hi 68,
I'm not sure just what you're referring to. The roof panels themselves, or the trim on the halo?
There was a change in the plating finish on the the plate that the wedge pin mounts to.
I also think there was a change in the weatherstrip configuration 2 piece changed to 1 piece, but I'm unsure when that happened... maybe not even 68-69?
The locking latch stud tips changed to rubber, but I think that was in 69.
That's all I have.
???
Regards,
Alan

If you look at the 1968 coupe roof panels for sale in the aftermarket they are shown as early and late versions. I cant tell by looking at the pics what the difference is. Maybe the size of the notch on the corner?

Hi 68,
You may well be right!
I found a note that says:
" second design includes extended area around rear roof panel latches." ZIP catalogue.
I see no hint as to when that change took place... maybe a 68 owner will know.
Regards,
Alan

"extended area"

Did they extend the panel or the opening?
